This 4 years girl is from Rudrasamudram a very small and remote    village in Donakonda mandal of Prakasam district. The parents of this girl are earning their bread working as coolies and also as agricultural labourers. They have no other property except a small thatched hut. This girl belongs to dalit community. This girl has two elder brothers and one elder sister.

During the midnight hours of 15th May 1998  a severe Fire broke out in the neighboring house of this girl. This is not a fire accident, but it is a man made hazard. There was conflict between the Dalits and the high caste community in this village. The conflict started just because the high caste people forcefully confiscated the small plots of agricultural fields which the dalits own. Dalits of this village protested against the harassment and exploitation and raised their voices in front of the district collector. The case was pending in the court. The high caste people were unable to tolerate the dalits unity and they deliberately  turned 58 people and 125 huts in to ashes. This girl was thrown out of the burning hut by her parents and as they were trying to rescue the other children the house collapsed and they were burnt alive. The poor girl was left out in a desperate situation looking at her burning family.

Her maternal uncle brought this girl to our orphanage. After knowing her deplorable condition, we admitted this girl in our orphanage. To day she is very happy and she was able to forget the tragedy. She proudly tells to every body who talks to her that this Premananda orphanage Centre is her permanent home where she is gets all that she lost.
